Ingredients

  • 12 oz ziti
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the ziti in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  • In a greased baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture. Top with half of the mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese. Repeat with remaining pasta and cheeses.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to settle and making it easier to slice.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave, adding a splash of water to keep the pasta moist. Pair this dish with a simple green salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
